Born and educated in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ed Calnitsky holds a Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Manitoba.  Prior to forming his own firm, his experience included working with architectural firms in London, England, and Caracas, Venezuela, as well as teaching design in London, Ontario. In 1986 he established Calnitsky Associates Architects, an award winning Architectural and Interior Design firm. The firm has been involved in a wide range of institutional, commercial, and residential projects throughout Canada, the United States, and overseas. Mr. Calnitsky has been closely involved in all aspects of architectural and interior design services and brings a strong creative and design presence to each project. His years of experience in managing projects and balancing design, budget, and schedule with the objectives of the client, have contributed to numerous successful projects

Robert W. Martin, Architect, MAA

Bob is a registered Architect with over three decades of experience. He has maintained professional registration in Manitoba since 1985. He is a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and has taught Architectural Design in the professional RAIC Syllabus program for over 30 years, focusing his teaching on the “process of architecture”.

Bob’s work as a Senior Associate | Architect MAA with Calnitsky Associates Architects Inc. sees him coordinating consultant teams and project development from design through production and construction phases and on to warranty review. He works directly with clients and all team members to ensure continuity throughout each project, maintaining clear communication flows between all. He maintains very high standards in design, construction detailing, and contract administration, which coupled with an extensive knowledge of environmental systems, life safety systems and budget control, ensures that clients will receive an excellent end product for long term use within original and life-cycle budgets.

Bob’s belief in architecture’s ability to improve the human condition led him into the profession initially and guides him still. Exercising his beliefs and abilities, he has won or shared in a number of local and national design awards, and he has created adaptable environments that have had a lasting impact. He believes in the importance of environmentalism and protection of the earth, and integrates that belief into his work. This focus led him to be one of Manitoba’s first LEED® Accredited Professionals.
