Norberry/Glenlee Community Centre Amalgamation, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Two existing Community Centres in Winnipeg – Norberry and Glenlee were aging and could no longer accommodate the growing and diverse recreation and leisure needs of their catchment areas. It was determined that an amalgamated Centre would be created by closing Glenlee and expanding the existing Norberry Community Centre. The Glenlee site remains as a satellite location with three skating rinks, two baseball diamonds, and the Walter Jennings Sports Facility. A large gymnasium, multi-purpose room, and amenity spaces were added to the existing Norberry facility. The amalgamated community centre provides programming including bingo, bridge club, dance, hockey, ringette, soccer, basketball, softball, and tae kwon do.
